geodynamics / sw4

SW4 (Seismic Waves, 4th order) implements substantial capabilities for 3-D seismic modeling, with a free surface condition on the top boundary, absorbing super-grid conditions on the far-field boundaries, and an arbitrary number of point force and/or point moment tensor source terms.

Longer Max String Length #22

Open bakerb845 opened 6 years ago

bakerb845 commented 6 years ago

In parseInputFile.C would it be possible to change the buffer length from 256 to 1024? The program currently hangs when I attempt to specify all 21 elastic coefficients for a tilted transverse isotropy run - but this adjustment fixes that. Thanks!

andersp commented 6 years ago

Can you make that change and submit a pull request?

bakerb845 commented 6 years ago

I'd be happy. However, I'm not really aware of the protocol for contributing. I made a branch called longer_buffer_strings however when I look to push the branch so I can initiate the pull request github is rejecting me. Do I need some type of special permission to contribute to the repository?

There are some instructions on github on how to do a pull request from a forked repository. If that is difficult, you can just send me your modified routine. /Anders
