The Symkala code-base is designed to support geo-visualization of text and image data. It expects to two-server configuration. It is publicly available via the Apache 2.0 License.
Ability to filter for certain timespans, after or before a certain date, months of the year, seasons (?), specific dates etc.
This would entail separate file fields for
upload date (automatically assigned)
creation date (automatically assigned, but option to alter)
topic date/era (manually assigned if relevant)
i.e. I uploaded a file yesterday (uploaded - 13 June 2016) which I created on the first of April 1993 (created - 1 April 1993) about Kennedy's assassination (topic date/era - 22 November 1963)
There should be comprehensive ability to assign only a year or month/year or timespan to certainly the topic date, maybe creation date (when file metadata is corrupted by copying and exact creation date is not remembered, but relevant to filing and search)
