Synapse support has been retired from rfNetHlp because the implementation
was a mess. I plan to reintroduce it for release 1.4 or before (if possible)

I will start working on this in a new branch, after release 1.3 is up.
I'd really appreciate having some help with it; it'll take me quite a lot if I 
have 
to do it all by myself.
