Cannot install on Win7 SP1 #3

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Install MP 1.1.3 or 1.2 BETA or 1.1.0 (not compatible with Win7SP1)
2. Add the plugin to the MP process folder
3. Start MPConfig and click on plugin

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
An error is showing up ("Failed to locate assembly...")

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
I tried a few combinations with MP versions and the different versions of the
plug-in

Please provide any additional information below.
No version of the plugin seams to work with the currently available versions of
Media Portal.

Sorry for the delay. I don't get notifications for new defects.

Are you still stuck on this? I hope not.

Let me know and I'll try to help out.

I guess that I would probably still get that problem, but I haven't made
any recent tests. I decided to use mc2xml, which is very nice when the
setup is completed.

Thanks.

OK,

Well, there are many people using this plugin on Win7SP1.

The error you got means the plugin was not matched to the version of MP. There
is definitely room for improvement on the plugin version naming. I've adopted
a new naming in hopes that it's easier for users to find the version for MP
version.

I'll close this and if you do return and have issues, you can open a new issue.
I set it up so at least I get notified now :)

Thanks.
