I would imagine we could allow the user to select the preferred alignment 
method (equatorial fields or polar field), than, for polar field we would:
  - provide the appropriate instructions in the instructions area
  - update the slewing controls to aid in slewing to a good polar field
  - disable or hide the alt/az buttons since there is no need to switch back and forth between alt and az equatorial fields
  - disable RA tracking
  - provide the target location for the star (dynamically update the position while drifting)  Drift/adjust phases are still used.
