This would be a lot of fun. Links to resources / kits would be πŸš€.

Oops not an issue, feel free to close :)

Yea, we'd find a good hardware kit to build on top of.

Would find and write the resources as I played, like I'd play one week ahead. Ugh why didn't I do this when I had nothing but free time.

pkpp1233 commented 7 years ago

I feel ya. Although I bet it's relative. In 5-10 years we'll be surprised at amount of free time we have now... even though it seems like little at all.

Haha I just mean right now with comma.ai, one year ago I had so much time to do nothing that I spent a week trying to find a counterexample to the https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Baillie%E2%80%93PSW_primality_test

Gahaha that's great. Gotta get that $30! I remember trying to figure out a solar cell build and doing improv in chicago the month before blockspring. Ahh yes freetime.

Was this inspired by the from nand to tetris course? maybe better.

geohot commented 7 years ago

Oh wow I'd never heard of that course. Looks cool.

Reading this got me all excited! I hope you go through with it one day – it's never too late :)

I would play along, and also help organize/fund/preach this shit. There are zero efficient ways to currently learn this stuff. Computer science is mostly self-taught at this point, the major flaw of which is difficulty in getting the full picture.
