Sample type has lots of detailed top concepts. Sample_material_type has lots detailed narrower concepts and lots of heirarchical relationships.
The sample type vocab handles most surface geology samples but is very limited for wellhead samples. The detail that sits below wellhead samples is all stored in the sample-material vocabs, which seems to have been optimised for petroleum and gas and is lacking for geochemistry concepts.
Concepts in the two vocabs are also apparently conflated with one another and need to be rationalised to improve the functionalty of GeoProps and integrity of our graph.
These issues will need to be resolved for Phase 2 (i.e. within 3-5 months) but are out of scope for MVP.
