WebSMS-sent SMS create second SMS-Thread for one contact #76

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Receive an SMS
2. Send an SMS through WebSMS to that contact

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

Sent and Received SMS should be in the same already existing SMS-Thread.
Instead a new SMS-Thread is created containing all the WebSMS-sent SMS.
Both threads have the same contact name.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

Android 1.5 on a HTC Hero. WebSMS 3.0.2

Please provide any additional information below.

I think this error exists since WebSMS 3 went to beta.

if i understand it right: your messages sent with websms are displayed in a
different
thread than the messages coming in?

if this is correct, i cannot reproduce this behavior.
please try if setting the contacts phone number to international format fixes
the
problem for you.

Yes, you did understand it right.

All my phone numbers are already stored in international format. I didn't have
this
bug on WebSMS 2.x, so i think you introduced it somewhere in the development
process
of WebSMS 3.0. I also tried changing several WebSMS-settings, with no success.

I hope it's possible to fix this problem as soon as possible. Thank you very
much for
this great application!

please tell me if the attached apk fixes the problem.

btw: the code saving the messages did not change, but the data going in there.
your hero 1.5 seems to be someway different. i could not reproduce the problem
with
the vanilla 1.5 or 2.1 android..
