@cole-brokamp looks like you started this in another branch called readme-badges

I like the way you put the badges in context in the overall readme on that branch. Should we combine that with how I've added the badges to the individual dpkg readmes here?

yeah, that sounds great! I totally forgot about that. you can use either or both. Did the function in dpkg work as expected?

Yes, it actually just printed the badge code in the console so I could copy and paste wherever needed.
