How to disable importing books to sdcard/Books?

Recent releases automatically import to mentioned location. I do not want duplicates, nor to have to delete files twice. Is there a way to disable it, as now it takes up space and redundant. In menu it only has 'Where to store downloaded books", and after downloading pdf and opening it, the file gets copied to this directory. And no way if disabling

What device and version of Android, and FBReader version are you running? I was able to go into Settings and remove sdcard/Books as a directory FBReader would use. On my production device, eBooks are on an external card, and located in /storage/sdcard1/eBooks. I maintain my library in Calibre, and selecting books I want on device and specifying Send to Card A places them where they ought to go,

There is no option to remove folder, only select other folder - 'Where to store downloaded books':

Tested on two different devices, 7.1.1 and 7.1.2, and both make a copy of PDF when you open PDF from Downloads, (Downloads app). Then even after you delete PDF from download folder you have to also delete it from Books folder, since a copy has been made. It would be greatly appreciated to have an option not to auto copy files to Books folder.

Any progress on this issue? I also don't want to have duplicate copies of same book on my phone.
