But this is an international project - we cannot change the defaults to "French". For the community which reads us here, can you provide more context on "the issue of the INSPIRE keyword"
But this is an international project - we cannot change the defaults to "French".
You can keep the default to eng
, but don't forget to set it to fre
for french platforms.
Multilingual thesaurus keywords are not well handled in GeoNetwork editor. Here are some limitations:
The gco:CharacterString
of the keyword has to be in the same language than the metadata, otherwise, it's not persisted in the record.
<gmd:keyword>
<gco:CharacterString>Adresses</gco:CharacterString>
</gmd:keyword>
In this example, it's in french (from the datafeeder), while the metadata is in English (from the template of the datafeeder). The consequence is that the keyword is removed.
You can't load the editor with a UI language which is different than the one the keyword is translated in, otherwise, there is a red flag indicating that the keywords could not be loaded.
My understanding is that there is a full mix between the UI language, the record language and the keyword language.
One thing which is clear is that the Datafeeder must set the keyword in the language of the metadata.
Got it, thanks Florent. Closing here.
This should avoid the issue of the INSPIRE keyword
