To be honest, i feel like it gives more of a realistic feeling to it, it forces you to do hidden piping systems if you don't want your farm to look bad and it mimics what real life pump "distances" are like from each other
Flying around with the /cdg oil locate
command you can see that there are plenty of oil chunks. The problem is that it is highly variable what the amount of oil inside it is. I have found values of like 2 buckets. It would be very annoying to setup the whole pump only to realize there is like 30 minutes of pumping in the chunk. On top of that it is crazy that you cannot really see this until you actually start digging.
Another thing is that there is no pattern in the locations of the chunks. It can be really tedious to find them and annoying that you can only do so by checking each chunk manually. I would prefer having a sort of compass that would point into the direction of a nearby (<16 chunks) deposit. Imagine you have just missed a very large deposit because you only scanned the chunk next to it.
Currently, the mod randomly selects chunks to have oil. That can cause them to be quite far from each other and for oil farms to look weird because they are so spread out.
An option to have the mod select chunks in a more realistic way would be nice, so that they more closely mirror oil deposits in real life, which are not small dots everywhere on the globe, but a few large, concentrated spots.
