maintenance sessions, simplify:
* made easier 
* should be measured in time and outcome of actions
* pre-scripted/automated/puppetized
* able to be replicated and rolled back
* staggered roll out

how: 
    shadow infrastructure
        what technical difficulties are there in producing a shadow infrastructure out of existing machines?

example:
    mylab -> shadow infrastructure for testing -> Pass/NoPass -> Reserve Booking/Add to existing/Add to next/add to another date -> Production -> Verification -> OK -> end booking -> notify operator -> notify users
