Reproducible figures

Why

The code is the instructions for generating the figure. By using the code to produce the figure each time, we

1. ensure that a reader can dive a level deeper and ask "how did they do that?"
2. ensures longevity: the figures are tested and we can make sure that they are always reproducible
3. updates and small edits can always easily be made

Examples
