Ideally, EM GeoSci should be a citeable object, in which case, we need a doi for it. Zenodo is one option: https://zenodo.org. This looks at github releases, archives each release and gives it a doi.
Implementing this means we would need to be a bit more rigorous about versioning when we merge to master, but that should not be too challenging.
