Dude you already opened #410 and #408 I don't have a Windows development environment at all. If you can contribute a fix, please issue a pull request, and it'll be very much welcomed.

Hello! author
I have switched the development environment to Ubuntu, but I still encountered the following problem during the process of starting the service. According to the development documentation, I have started the basic service, but I did not install the database. Is this error caused by not having a database environment?

Did you do make install
before starting the service? In my case it helped resolving bean dependency errors
Oh! I am now trying to run the following make install command to see if there is any information printed. When I run this command, I find that there is no output on the interface!!

Hello! author
After I made the install again, I found that this error still occurred. The version I pulled is v1.5.0.
The Maven version used is 3.8.

if you want to run a service from the IDE (personally I use eclipse and I don't know IDEA, but still):
make
, it'll run the whole build and create the docker imagescd compose && docker compose -f compose.yml -f catalog-datadir.yml up -d
. If you don't choose a catalog backend implementation you'll get that error you mentionedWmsApplication
, with the following JVM parameters: -Dspring.profiles.active=datadir,local -DGEOSERVER_DATA_DIR=<path to compose/catalog-datadir/>
The local
profile tells the app which ports to look for the config service and the discovery service, which are the ones they expose in the docker compose.
With that in place, you should be able to run the app from the ide and make it join the cluster running in docker compose. If you want to debug from the IDE, you might want to kill that service in the docker compo, to avoid the gateway load balancing requests to the running container and the app launched from the IDE.
Hope that helps.
oh, and please use markdown code formatting when pasting stack traces:
``` your code here ```
results in
your code here
I have tried many methods and followed the prompts you provided to pull the code from the main branch again and make it.
But when I started services such as WPS and WMS through the IDE, I still encountered an error regarding "GeoServerResourceLoader" in the parameter of the "dataDirectory" method in the "CoreBackendConfiguration" class.
As follows: No qualifying bean of type 'org. geoserver. platform GeoServerResourceLoader 'available: expected at least 1 bean which qualifies as autowire candidate Dependency annotations: {}
This problem has been bothering me for a long time. I tried to delete the code for this module, but it was not very useful.
I don't know what caused it. But I have observed that the stable program you published through the Docker Compose.yml file does not include file information such as the "CoreBackendConfiguration" class in the Docker image.
Let me briefly describe the operation process after I pull the code:
pulling the main branch code through git clone pull branch code through git submodule init and git submodule update load code through IDE and update Maven (the version used is included in the code) After loading the code, execute the make command in the main directory. After the make command is completed, CD it to the src directory and execute the clean install command
start the service through startup classes such as "WpsApplication" and "WcsApplication" in the code Currently, the only services that can be started through the startup class are:"ConfigApplication", "DiscoveryApplication", "GatewayApplication", and "SpringBootAdminServerApplication". Other services have encountered org. springframework. beans. factory during the startup process NoSuchBeanDefinitionException: No qualifying bean of type 'org. geoserver. platform GeoServerResourceLoader 'available: expected at least 1 bean which qualifies as autowire candidate Dependency annotations: {} This error
I have another question, which is that there is a configuration item for loading "gs_cloud bootstrap profiles. yml" in "bootstrap, yml" under the "resources" directory, but I did not find the existence of this file throughout the entire project
Can you answer my questions? Thank you very much!
check out the main branch, not sure why you're trying to build 1.5.0 beware on main we switched to Java 21, so have a Java 21 JDK set up run make, it'll run the whole build and create the docker images cd compose && docker compose -f compose.yml -f catalog-datadir.yml up -d. When I was troubleshooting the package of gs mian, I found that some configuration items in the "applicationSecurityContext.xml" file under gs mian had errors that corresponded exactly to the corresponding ones Methods required in the "CoreBackendConfiguration" class in the geoserver cloud. I don't know if this part of the error code caused the Spring container to fail to load these classes, resulting in service startup failure
In order for the app run from the IDE to join the cluster, you must first:
cd compose/
docker compose -f compose.yml -f catalog-datadir.yml up -d
Then configure the application to run in the IDE (e.g. WmsApplication
) with the following JVM arguments:
-Dspring.profiles.active=datadir -DGEOSERVER_DATA_DIR=<path to gscloud git checkout>/compose/catalog-datadir`
(or wherever your bind-mounted data directory is.
Hope that helps. That's all I've to do to work on it on a daily basis.
I can confirm I can debug a service from IntelliJ with the instructions provided above by @groldan (tested with webui
and wms
).
Only thing I might add is that when checking out a new branch / pulling the latest main you might need to re-build and empty the content of your local data directory (compose/catalog-datadir
).
