AgID uses an application of its own production, performed externally to Ckan, for managing and publishing datasets on the DAF portal. This application retrieves Ckan's dataset via standard APIs, manipulates them by adding new resources and / or metadata to make the datasets analysable on the final portal and finally sends them (in POST) to the DAF portal where they will be consulted. The original idea regarding this task included the possibility of inserting the code within the harvesting flow through the development of a further Ckan extension and the appropriate hooks in line with the Ckan best practices. The need to have this logic as part of the harvesting flow is not a stringent requirement, the application could continue to be performed externally to Ckan as now. AgID needs to check for next developments of this application (still at a non-definitive stage) to realign with GeoSolutions and decide how to proceed. AgID will provide the current application code for a first analysis by GeoSolutions.
