Make sure rectangles generated by intersections/unions are treated as rectangles by PreparedGeometry (it has a optimized performance for them, but the union/intersection methods tend to generate polygons that are visually rectangles, but with extra ordinates that need to be pruned)
Avoid using antialiasing in raster image rendering when the image is a pixel aligned rectangle, avoiding the extra cost and scalability issues (the AA alpha-blending merge step still has a JVM wide lock)
Make sure a tile cache by the vectorize operation is used when no hints have been specified
