Contradiction in UG for subject argument #12

Field SHOULD be spelt out in full BUT we do allow abbreviations.

Reason for disagreement: image.png https://www.dictionary.com/browse/should, This is from the dictionary the dev team used for their counter-argument for their other issue.

I understand where their argument is coming from, but I was confused when I first read this. In my opinion at that time, I believe there is a clear contradiction here, and this might lead to confusion for the reader. I know that this might be subjective of me, but they also can't expect the reader to not interpret this as I did, especially since they most probably would just skim through it, if they even read it.

Also, this might be a bit unrelated, but for typist, abbreviation would save their time, and I don't know why they should use the full spelling as you guys argue.
