⚠️ ensure that the names of the initial .npy array files that get lumped together are retained, as they encode the field of view (FOV), the ROI ID of the regional spot, and the regional timepoint in which the spot was detected.
We rewrite the NPZ file to make it more usable by napari, and this is entirely duplicate information anyway, so we should replace the NPZ by ZARR from the beginning, to save compute time of writing both formats and to save the disk space and/or hassle of later cleaning it up.
