Can't copy paste NRIC #9

Open gerteck opened 4 months ago

gerteck commented 4 months ago

If I want to edit a persons contact info or med info or appointment, I use find by name, which shows the card. Then, it shows the NRIC, however, I can't copy and paste it or select it, i need to manually see it and remember the NRIC to edit all the related info.

This makes it such that the features do not fit well / optimized, it is hard for me to remember the NRIC or scrutinize the NRIC and retype it when I only have the name of the patient.

Perhaps it would have been good to add support for find by NRIC

Team's Response

The tester is contradicting themselves. The tester mentioned that "Perhaps it would have been good to add support for find by NRIC", but they also mentioned that "it is hard for me to remember the NRIC or scrutinize the NRIC and retype it".

Having a "Find by NRIC" feature would require the user to remember the NRIC so it would not make any sense to have such a feature for users that are already struggling to remember the NRIC.

That is why find by name exists, so that users that cannot remember the NRIC can then use the name as a means to located the NRIC.

Reason for disagreement: I apologize that my suggested solution was not optimal, as I was slightly pressed for time.

The reason I had suggested that was to add some consistency and standardization across all commands such that NRIC would act as a primary key of sorts, so that it would present a stronger case for all the other commands to be referenced through NRIC. This would mean that when using the application, the name becomes of secondary importance, and patients are referred to by NRIC as a primary key. However, I acknowledge that it can seem contradictory given my initial concern, and lack of time to explain why I suggested that. My apologies.

Given my explanation, I refer to:

I don't think that the suggestion invalidates the concern of the bug report, nor has the team responded to the original feature flaw concern. Upon light user testing, given the emphasis of efficiency of the application, the lack of a way to copy and paste the NRIC, or have the other commands support using name as a primary key, make it hard to use the application quickly. It would affect the NFRs of the application and hurt the workflow. I sincerely hope that my concerns have been presented clearly.
