Hi,

I am unable to get the shrink-wrap good.

Have you been able to do it to any ready rendered files?

sorry for posting here on issues but i don't know how github works and where to post questions :P

No problem. I also couldn't get satisfied with the shrink wrap either.

I feel that it is better to model the bevels directly, although it's difficult!

I've been working with NURBS to achieve this, but Blender has quite poor NURBS modelling. So I've been trying out alternative modellers.

I will be doing more on this in the next week or so. I will post any results here.

Oh great! I myself just got into modeling and are note really handy with any 3d-modelling program so this is much appriciated. Im thinking about the ISO enter thou (as im from sweden and we use ISO) im thing im going to try to create that. Ill look into NURBS and see if I can figure out how that works and implement it with my ISO enter :D

So far I haven't found any good free NURBS modellers.

Rhino3D is a popular, but expensive option. There is a 30 day trial version though.

Also there's http://moi3d.com/ which I like better. Also has a trial. It's still pretty expensive. However they won't bug you to buy it the way Rhino does. Which I find a bit annoying.

Got it to work? I've been trying to read up on NURBS but beeing a novice in 3D modeling its very hard to wrap your head around all this stuff >.<

I haven't had any time to get any further.

Thanks to Carbon SA/Spoonyluv/MassDrop I do now have a decent set of SA caps, so other than NURBS, a laser scanning option is not out of the question.

I may do this if I can get hold of a scanner / bureau

Hi

Awesome that you have gotten yourself a good set of SA caps from massdrop. Have you found time to try to create the caps?

Super busy Dec - March so didn't have any time to do any hobby things :)

Hopefully end of April I get a chance, but I'm teaming up with someone to do the renders on Ristretto SA so I'm not highly motivated to improve these now, so progress will be sporadic.

Note. There's been no movement on this. I'm putting this project on ice for now as I haven't got time to invest at the moment.
