Remote SSH fails with fish as shell on remote machine #1481

3) If you can, steps to reproduce are super helpful

I can see in the details of the SSH connection the connection succeeds and the terminal welcome message from the remote machine is printed but then the ssh setup and remote server launch stalls until timeout.

I do not know my prior version but the last time I updated cursor was some time around last Friday (5/31) and it worked until the most recent update

Seems to be related to https://github.com/microsoft/vscode-remote-release/issues/2509

I closed this but then I realized it probably wouldn't be seen by the cursor team. I am leaving open just so y'all can see the issue, source or the issue, and the workaround in case that knowledge is useful. Please feel free to close or just let stale bot close
