i checked the dev tools and I found that this error comes out.
So some issues that I see with this error
Same here.. Only 3.5-turbo. No way to select gpt-4
Is this still an issue? We cant use gpt4 with our own key? even if we have chatgpt 4 plus?
Is there no way to use GPT4? with my own ChatGPT plus account?
No idea what is happening. I submited here and from the Cursors IDE bug report but two weeks later we have no answer
@elektracodes I think the team is overwhelmed with work. I'm not sure it fixes it but, I just discovered that I have chatgpt plus. Which is not the right package for a gpt4 key. I need to pay for that As I go. Have not payed for it yet, but will in a few days. Just have to get the company card etc. Will report back if that changes things.
Looks like this issue hasn't been touched in a few weeks; anyone from the Cursor team have any updates? Seems that GPT-4 access would be a crucial feature to fix, given it's improved performance for code generation and reasoning relative to GPT-3.5.
For me it was that I had the wrong payment structure at openAI. I paid for chat gpt plus. But I had to get the pay as you go plan that gets you the GPT4 key.
Downgrading can be a bandaid. If it can help anyone: https://github.com/getcursor/cursor/issues/394#issuecomment-1757592654

3) If you can, steps to reproduce are super helpful
I do not know if these steps would reproduce the issue
In a prior version, I used all the free GPT-4 quota before adding my own API key. I confirmed that I did this correctly by seeing the usage and charges on OpenAI. Post the recent update, despite attempts to select GPT-4 from the menu, the system automatically reverts to the GPT-3 model, which is now the only available option in the settings.
