Please remove the homepage widgets from front-page.php and also any areas where these widget areas are created.

We never use widgets.

Above work (feature/widget_removal) will need to be merged when below comment is resolved.

Suggest removal of unused 'Footer widgets' in /inc/register-widget-areas.php which could then lead on to removal of this file completely.

Agree. Please remove all the widgets. We don't use them
