Can we please remove the homepage slider module and replace it with a custom BC Plugin?

Requirements would be:

ability to create slides and assign them to any page
ability to easily see (in an overview screen) which slides are assigned to which page
ability to easily customise the markup without necessarily having to override the templates - lots of filters....etc
JavaScript not required - this is left to the developers' discretion.

Tanlinell module homepage sliders is now depracated and has been removed
