I actually think that this kind of advanced logic is best suited to TNTSearch which already has the ability to customize what is searched and how, in a much more optimized fashion.

Well, @rhukster , don't know about fuzzy search, but search in custom header fields seems to be very interesting and require not much resources. Some people need this, myself included. We can add a simplesearch option to enable/disable it, what do you think? I can work on it.
