perhaps use the unix dictionary at /usr/share/dict/words to check for non-hyphenated words... or just look for hyphens at end of paragraph?

Was not an issue, was to do with unicode for double quotes.

Also, apparently, the only two hyphenated words in the unix dictionary are names. Weird:
