Panel: Resize images on upload #36

Open ghost opened 5 years ago

@seehat commented on Aug 1, 2018, 7:57 AM UTC:

Is it possible to integrate clientside resizing on upload, configurable in the blueprint or kirby site configs?

Only the resized image would need to be transfered, which would lead to faster uploads of images and no waste of resources on the server.

Example would be: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/10333971/html5-pre-resize-images-before-uploading

That's definitely something I'd love to integrate at some point.

This sounds fabulous.

Check out @medienbaecker's fantastic plugin for now: https://github.com/medienbaecker/kirby-autoresize

We still keep this on the roadmap.

Finding this now, and realizing that the screenshots I upload via the panel are still very large. Reuploading all of them will be tedious and implementing a new auto optimizing method would be really helpful. https://tinypng.com/third-party
