egress server from this branch can be used with the environment variable
CONFIG_SERVER_AUTH_TOKEN=<secret value> to enable requests to config server during testing.
It also tacks in a fake ip address for the client which has no basis in reality but is required.
I don't suggest actually merging this, but a binary could be deployed from here perhaps.
