• as you can see from the diff, there was a time when build2xlsform was correct not to implement this feature. but then requiredText got added to build itself, and not here.

How did you verify this worked? I ask because I don't have an build2xlsform set up. If you could attach a sample output XML from this PR that I could try in Collect, that'd help me approve quickly.

oh tbh i figured that if it ended up in the correct format in excel it’d be fine but i can get you that tomorrow.
