This idea is really nice! And not seems very complicated to make. It would improve very much the themes directory. I don't understand how this issue hasn't interactions until January 16th and today! :open_mouth:
Would the community like to contemplate some sort of categorization of themes?
My idea: This list broken down similar to awesome-python and similar "awesome" guides. That is, themes could be listed or tagged as Responsive, Minimal, extensible and more. I am not sure about the best approach to accomplish this. However, I am inclined to think that a few simple questions asked to the submitter would be adequate. Ie. a two sentence summary of the theme listed in the readme of this repo.
My rationale: This would help people narrow down themes that interest them. A few screen shots hardly describes the behavior of the template on mobile, for example. Although, some have included screen shots of mobile. Navigating to each theme repo in hopes of finding a live demo so one can run
command + option + j
.... then emulating mobile in developer tools to see behavior is not exactly ideal. Also, what about extremely old (possibly abandoned) themes? Do they continue to work with new versions of Pelican?
