Hive / Impala connector doesn't work with Cloudera CDH #1969

The connectors as they are configured with Redash v2.0.0 do not work with Cloudera's CDH for either Impala or Hive. There are a number of issues, including:

thrift version 0.10.0 is incompatible (#1840),
many connection options are missing, especially security options, and
it is preferred to connect to a CDH Hive using Cloudera's Impyla library (especially on secured clusters).

I'll submit a pull request shortly.
