Member cannot create project although Let Members Create Project setting is enabled #76167

Steps to Reproduce

I'll share the details in Jira.

Expected Result

all members should create projects if the setting is enabled

Actual Result

a member cannot create new projects

The organization should not have the Let Members Create Project feature because this feature is gated to business plans. Although right now the toggle is on in settings, the feature is not enabled for them. We are working on a fix to correct the UI mismatch.

That's interesting - but I do recall other members being able to create projects in the past. I don't know when exactly, and it may have been a year or two ago, but since we haven't changed our plan for even longer, could it indicate being on some sort of a legacy plan and a feature got removed by mistake? That said, it's not that big of a deal since we could promote members to admins to overcome it.

We found the root cause and it's caused by 2 contradicting product requirements. We'll update this thread when we sort it out with the product team.
