Currently, the stats page can show when spans(and transactions) were dropped on the server or client side for all the reasons documented here. However, it does not show when spans were dropped due to retention priorities. This can lead to confusion, as customers think that their spans are missing even though they can see that Sentry is returning 200 on the envelopes and there are no dropped spans in their stats.
Solution Brainstorm
Add another category to the dropped spans so that customers can see how many were dropped due to retention priorities.
