Is this repository will be disabled? Particularly I do not like the snap packages, they need to evolve a lot.

Yes, as the description says the long term plan is to deprecate this repository and use something like Snaps (or maybe flatpack, etc.) instead. Of course this has been the plan for quite some time now, and it might still take a while for it to actually happen.
