After some time, Brisk Menu consumes a ton of memory #56

I have 2 systems which reboot extremely infrequently. I have begun to experience periodic system slowness, and the cause is Brisk menu taking up a ton of memory:

On one system I saw it get to over 7GB of memory before. I have not been able to troubleshoot as I'm finding no specific configuration or logs. This is Ubuntu Mate 22.04 LTS. One thing I have installed is appimage launcher, but I don't think that's necessarily the issue and can find no correlation.

If there are any debugging methods I can try I'm ready to provide output; I'm not sure how to begin troubleshooting here.

I'm running ubuntu mate on several machines. On one this week, brisk-menu eats up all or almost all of the 16GB of memory on the machine, seemly at a random time. The machine has light usage. One time I was able to kill brisk-menu to release the memory. Killing brisk-menu didn't seem to have any other effect.

I was recently playing with changing keyboard and mouse devices on a logitech unifying receiver and I just noticed that the toolbar had a strange addition that looked like it was left over from that. I don't understand any of this enough to know how any of this stuff interacts or whether it's related.

Hi @proudindiv! Unfortunately Solus is moving away from MATE desktop and is no longer maintaining brisk-menu. If your distribution is dependent on brisk-menu I'd recommend talking to your distribution maintainers and seeing if they'd be willing to move development of brisk-menu under their own Github namespace.

I'm observing same on Ubuntu MATE 22.04, brisk-menu is from the package mate-applet-brisk-menu/jammy,now 0.6.2-1ubuntu0
