Nvidia Driver Install Not Allowing Dual Monitors #4167

Please confirm there isn't an existing open bug report

Summary

I am working on getting Solus working for my Lenovo p300 with a Quadro 1000. I did a fresh install and had one monitor through HDMI, one through the Quadro. Everything seemed to be working. I installed the Nvidia drivers through DoFlicky and rebooted. Then only the monitor through the Quadro was visible. So I did some research and someone suggested rolling back and trying to install the drivers through the command line. So I did that, same result. Now I only have one monitor with Nvidia, two without Nvidia.

Steps to reproduce

  1. Fresh install of Solus with one monitor plugged in to the Quadro/Nvidia card, the other plugged into a non-Quadro/Nvidia HDMI port
  2. Update system
  3. Install Nvidia drivers through doflicky
  4. Reboot

Expected result

Both monitors to work as they do before the Nvidia drivers are installed

Actual result

Only the monitor plugged into the Quadro/Nvidia port is recognized

There have been some important fixes to the NVIDIA drivers that are currently being tested in the Unstable repository. I suggest waiting until the updates arrive in the Stable repository on Wednesday or so, then testing again and reporting back. Thanks!

@MonBureauLinux Regarding the question in your screenshot: The modaliases packages are just used for hardware detection (e.g. by doflicky), and are always installed. They are tiny and contain no driver libraries.

Any idea ?

I can redo a new installation to see if the bug is still there.

Please open a separate issue for the software install hanging. We need one bug report per bug. Thanks.

Hi,

in the section about Solus, only the amd radeon card is visible. The Nvidia card is not visible.
