I would suggest to add mattermost (https://mattermost.com/) as it is bundled with Gitlab this might be very useful. As my company is using it for internal dev chat i added as custom service, but this might also be useful as prebuilt option.

I work with Mattermost as custom app. Works :) just add you specific company url.

sure it works - it is only abut convenience (did the same)
