OTA updates broken on RPI-4. #1764

Update failed

Pleae install umbrelOS 1.0 on your microSD card to update: https://link.umbrel.com/pi-update

It seems the developers are forcing umbrelHome purchases or flashing umbrel images. Whatever happened to good old install script?

I installed successfully the umbrel OS 1.0 on my Raspberry Pi 4. But I see that already two small updates (1.0.1 and 1.0.2) were released, but if I click the "Check for update" in my umbrel OS Settings sections, it does not find any of these updates. Will you fix this please, so the updates will work again as with previous version? Thanks.

Hey @infinitydaemon! You can simply flash umbrelOS 1.0.3 on the microSD card to update your Raspberry Pi 4. Instructions are here: https://umbrel.com/update-to-umbrelos-1-0

The curl command used to work non-Raspberry Pi and non-Umbrel Home installations.

Thank you for the response. This is a Raspberry Pi 4. I have a custom Kernel tuned for this running 6.8.01 and other custom built software built (non-Umbrel) so thats why i can't afford to run stock kernel or flash the Umbrel image on the Pi4 . I was hoping that there was some way to upgrade the Umbrel version without flashing the full image.

I do see a "umbrelos-pi.update" file but its not clear if that is an OTA and it lacks instructions to update. Please assist with this as i's sure a lot of users might be facing the same problem.

Did you flash the full Umbrel image or was that an OTA update?

This thread is related to OTA update issue only. Since you are already here , you can do a full flash of Umbrel image again for the latest releases.
