Route all Umbrel traffic through a VPN like NordVPN, ProtonVPN or OpenVPN #1849

It would be great to install popular clients of VPN providers, or our own VPN to route all the traffic of Umbrel. This feature will be specially useful to host Umbrel servers in countries where internet is censored.

Even that some apps use Torrent, others are connected directly to internet.

I tried to install ProtonVPN but I can't make it work.

I don't use Umbrel OS which I assume you're using. I don't have any issue with routing all traffic through a VPN (wireguard) when Umbrel is installed as an app from Debian.

Thanks for this suggestion @matiasvillaverde! It's on our roadmap to add a system-wide VPN in umbrelOS, configurable through the UI. Transferring this issue to https://github.com/getumbrel/umbrel for tracking.
