Cannont launch Java application on OSX 10.4.11 #27

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 8 years ago

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Launch CropPlanning.app, then select output directory and click "Done"
to start program
2.
3.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Window comes up that says: "Cannont launch Java application - Uncaught
exception in main method: java.lang.NullPointerException" and the only
option is to "Quit".

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
On a mac running OSX 10.4.11

Please provide any additional information below.
It is possible that my java environment is hosed in some way or another,
but I don't believe so.

I need some more info about this. Try this all again and, after it sends you
the
"NullPointerException", open up the Console application (I think it's in
/Applications/Utilities/Console.app) and cut and paste essentially everything
in that
window into an email to me. (Console.app provides detailed info about programs
running on your computer and -- appropriate here -- why they crash.) Please
send it
via email since the Console might include some sensitive info that you don't
want to
post on the web.

Sorry for the delay in responding do this, Justin. I just now saw it. In
general,
it's better to post errors like this either directly to me via email
(cropplanning@gmail.com) or to the cropplanning-users or cropplanning-devel
mailing
lists.

Although the cause of this isn't understood, a workaround is in place in SVN.
