Athena-Express can simplify executing SQL queries in Amazon Athena AND fetching cleaned-up JSON results in the same synchronous or asynchronous request - well suited for web applications.

Hi, thanks for this great library!

I was wondering if you had plans to add support for aws-sdk v3?

https://www.npmjs.com/package/@aws-sdk/client-athena

Thanks

ghdna commented 3 years ago

I'm looking into v3 and evaluating the value and the rework necessary. Want to ensure any update to this package is backwards compatible.

@ghdna any update on supporting V3?

MasterOdin commented 1 year ago

They added a note to the v2 readme stating that it'll go into maintenance mode in 2023, and so will reach end of life in 2024.

alfaproject commented 1 year ago

Is there any hope for this or should we fork?

janpio commented 1 year ago

Deprecation notice now being pushed during usage as well:

(node:10977) NOTE: We are formalizing our plans to enter AWS SDK for JavaScript (v2) into maintenance mode in 2023.

Please migrate your code to use AWS SDK for JavaScript (v3).

Hello 👋🏼 , just wondering do you have an ETA for this implementation? Thanks, amazing library though :)

LeoLapworthKT commented 10 months ago

https://www.npmjs.com/package/@classmethod/athena-query seems like replacement for SDK v3 - haven't gone into it in detail yet

alfaproject commented 10 months ago

@LeoLapworthKT that package doesn't seem to support skipping results )':

Hi, Athena-Express-Plus is now available and it's a direct fork of Athena-Express. Express Athena Plus is an extension of the original Athena Express library, tailored to work seamlessly with AWS V3 architecture, bringing you the latest enhancements and security features offered by Amazon Web Services. Additionally, it introduces comprehensive parameterized query support, allowing you to build more dynamic and efficient Athena queries within your Node.js applications.
