Similar to how oxygen behaves, have an option to only display/render the Thirst Meter when it's either Not Full or Low (3 droplets). Since it's low priority and is only really important/noticeable when you're thirsty, it'd be nice to have it not render all the time. Could also have it only render when your Thirst changes, such as performing exhaustive tasks, trekking a desert, or quenching your thirst.
This would also add parity with AutoHUD, as it has similar options for bars (Not Full, Low, and Changing), but doesn't support custom bars yet.
