Make sure the Gridworks can connect to Freebase services at startup #64

Gridworks assumes to be online and that Freebase services will be available 
when invoked.

We need to make sure that this is not the case and it can downgrade gracefully 
(or at least notify in 
a meaningful way and not just fail silently)

Not really necessary since most functionalities work even without Freebase (or 
any internet connectivity)
