Ghostery Browser Flatpak: opening links from Desktop apps fails if set to default application #8

Open philipp-classen opened 2 months ago

Reproduced on Ubuntu 22.04 (MATE).

  1. Install Ghostery Browser as Flatpak image.

  2. Configure it as the preferred application (Menu -> Preferred application -> Web Browser: Ghostery Private Browser) config

  3. Open a terminal and type "https://example.com/". Right-click and open link.

  4. Results in the "Ghostery is already running" error error

The expectation would be that the link is opened in the Ghostery Browser.

This is the Flatpak configuration: https://github.com/flathub/com.ghostery.browser/

It has been derived directly from the LibreWolf project: https://github.com/flathub/io.gitlab.librewolf-community

LibreWolf works and the Ghostery Browser does not. Yet, I was not able to spot a relevant difference in the setup. My best guess is that the Ghostery Browser fails to detect the existing running process at startup.
