Binding ctrl+space to "open session" results in a space in the input #278

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Bind CTRL+Space to "Open session"
2. Type CTRL+Space

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

I expect no space in the input field, instead there is one, interfering with 
the search functionality.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

1.4.0.1 beta
