Can't input letter when shortcut set to Ctrl+letter

What steps will reproduce the problem?
0.Go to a session.
1.Set Ctrl+w as hotkey for Close Session
2.Go to Edit Session
3.Set cursor to Extra putty arguments
4. I tried to input "-pw", but I can't input 'w' it close all opened sessions.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

I'm guessing this is a combination of a few bugs where SP misses the control-up 
keystroke along with a failed workaround to fix it.

try 1.4.0.2 beta (build tonight)...I have a different work around to try.
