Avogadro is an advanced molecular editor designed for cross-platform use in computational chemistry, molecular modeling, bioinformatics, materials science, and related areas. It offers flexible rendering and a powerful plugin architecture.
After having removed a group from an atom it is possible to add a Hydrogen by either dragging from the atom in question to where you would like the H to be, or dragging from where you'd like the H to be to the atom in question.
The former causes a runtime error followed by Avogadro stopping working 100% of the time when attempting to bond hydrogen to any atom (Win7 - will try running from terminal on Linux/Mac before the end of the day).
The latter initially works, although creates the same error if the user attempts to undo the step.

Build > Add Hydrogens works fine however.
