This needs to pull the previous commits as well, right?

Not really needed, main should already have those things. The old v0.0.7 release was just too old.

This is kind of a preference nit, but I'd vote for either having 0.0.8 fully included on the main branch (there are some diffs), or just not including 0.0.8 in the changelog on main
